Getting Started
Ready to get started? Team Advisors/Mentors, in this section you'll find the information you need to guide your team(s) through a successful project and ways to get your students excited about helping to save the environment! You'll find a step-by-step description of the Challenge process, detailed information about completing and submitting your application and resources to help you facilitate the Challenge.
Follow the steps below to complete the Challenge.
1. Register for the Challenge.
The Team Advisor/Mentor must register for the Challenge to get started. Remember to save this information. You will need this to log in and submit the application.
2. Set up your team(s).
Once registered, you can add your team(s) in the Dashboard. You must be logged in to access the Dashboard. After you add a team, you will be provided with the team's login information. Be sure to provide this login information to your students so that they can log in and work on the application. Teachers/Mentors may have more than one team but each individual student may only be a part of one team.
3. Follow the Challenge Process and utilize free site Resources.
Use the step-by-step guide to help you and your team(s) through the Challenge Process steps:Choose It, Research It, Plan It, Do It, Analyze It, Share It. On the site, you will also find hundreds of free resources to help facilitate the Challenge including project ideas, virtual labs, videos, and lesson plans.
4. Complete and submit your application.
Students should log in using the team login information to access and complete their application. Students are responsible for filling out the entire application. Once the team has completed all steps, Teachers/Mentors must log in to review all steps (Review/Submit Application), make sure your team information is up-to-date and agree to all Challenge terms before submitting the team's application. Once you submit your application, you will not be able to make any changes.
All applications are due by March 5, 2013. Early submissions are encouraged.
